Bad call

I wrote to an editor: “Like millions of other people across the country, I’ve been calling my senators and representatives everyday, urging them to not support Trump’s nominees, to protect Obamacare, etc. And like everyone else, I’m frustrated because it’s obvious they’re going to tow the party line no matter how many people call. I propose a new strategy. Instead of urging support for specific policy positions, callers should bombard their senators and reps with short, sticky stories based on devastating opposition research. The kinds of stories that reduce favorability numbers and sink re-relection campaigns. It would be unnerving to say the least, and it would be a way impact the news cycle and test-run campaign strategies in the run-up to 2018 and 2020.”

He passed.
